What to Expect in This Video


In this demonstration, we show you how to use Anaplan Connect, from setup to on-going use. To begin, you need to make sure you have Java installed. If this is not the case, we will guide you through the proper installation. Up next we will download and install the Anaplan Connect API client, and save the download to appropriate folders. 


Once the Anaplan Connect client and Java are set up, we will move forward to Anaplan’s integration script generator, which will help you to develop a script that uploads files to Anaplan without needing to write any code. Next, you will show Anaplan where you want to upload your files by inputting your credentials, workspace, model IDs, and the local file path for the file you wish to upload. Please note that you will need to save the script as a .bat file after it has been generated.


Once that the script has been created, open your command prompt and change directory to where the script is already located. Copy this path, paste this path into the script and then run the script. 


When the script is executed and the process reaches 100%, the task is accomplished. If you refresh the module, you will notice that the file was imported from your computer to the Anaplan module.


Our final step will be setting up a task in Task Scheduler, where you can schedule the action. Up next we will show you how to configure a script to automate this process, including how to establish the required files and parameters. Lastly, you will be able to see the import process in action, seamlessly transferring and updating data in Anaplan.
